not to be "that guy" but man its really annoying switching majors and being surrounded by first years. they all get so fucking freaked out over every single assignment, even if its worth like 1%.
maybe im just super jaded from my year in eng where i had so many assignments i had to literally pick and choose which ones to do and which ones to get a 0 on because i had too much on my plate. now im taking a normal course load it feels so much more relaxed that i just cant relate to the other ppl in my classes who are losing their minds with stress. im used to the mentality of "just get a 50 and ur good" bc thats how i scraped my way thru eng last year lmao
and now im in discord servers with a bunch of people who are in their first year and they all get so worked up over any quiz, assignment, or test no matter how tiny/easy it is. like the other day we had a quiz in my data science class that was 5 basic comprehension questions about a 15 min ted talk. i literally finished it in under a minute. the prof SAID it was gonna be easy as fuck and take 2 seconds, so he only left the quiz open for 10 minutes and everyone was losing their minds about how short that window was. but it was wayyy more than enough time and everyone was freaking out over nothing.
this is just my opinion but i dont see much point in being stressed over school/grades. if you do the work and put in a good effort theres basically no way you can fail a class, and unless youve got some massive scholarship u need a high GPA to keep theres no reason u need to get an A+ in everything. just take the B or C and move on bc at the end of the day ur still getting a degree out of it.
