its really hard to delete twitter because i need something to scroll when im on break at work or just bored. im so used to reading posts all the time idk how to kick that habit but i just want it on another platform thats not twitter. twitter is just so full of bitterness. i already deleted every other social media because they are too ad-heavy/clickbaity/profit-driven, and even tho twitter isn’t AS bad for that (still a bit of an issue) i just am exhausted by the general attitude of twitter. its just so annoying but i find it hard not to use it because i feel a need to scroll and look at stuff when im bored.
im considering going back to tumblr maybe??? even deviantart is appealing rn??? like even reddit would be better if i don’t go on the annoying subreddits
does anyone have any suggestions to some platform i can use as a boredom filler that isnt twitter. id love if the lorums could be that for me but unfortunately its not active enough for that (YET!!!)

Re: deleting twitter
the other thing that rubs me the wrong way abt twitter is they’re starting to smart-filter content more which im not a fan of. does anyone else see those posts where someone said “look at the comments theyre ripping this guy to shreds” and ALL the comments are positive or “why is everyone being mean” because all the “bad” ones have been filtered out?
like okay maybe this is a weird take but the thought of platforms taking it into their own hands to prevent you from seeing certain stuff makes me not want to use it. even if its just “mean comments,” if they’re THERE i want to be able to see them if i choose to. and how do we know its even detecting actual mean comments and not just deleting everything that has the word “fuck” in it. like look at what fb does with shit like that, certain keywords get ur whole account suspended, and the trigger words are not even that bad its mostly just profanity. anyway i just don’t like that type of thing and it also drives me to want to leave twitter. elon might remove some of that type of stuff with his “free speech” shit but by principle i also don’t want to use a platform owned by him LOL
either way i want ideas for what to use to fill the void twitter leaves behind

Re: deleting twitter
imo reddit can actually be a great scroller if you heavily curate what subs you subscribe to
like i have a reddit account that it subscribed solely to art related subreddits (mostly 'fantasy art' like dozens of subreddits from the r/imaginarynetwork but also like some normal art and photography) and i can scroll that for hours
i think ive been using twitter less recently. i dont really scroll on there for a long time anymore, i kind of just check it for a couple minutes every hour or two, or if i have a tweet idea, or get a notification (and i only have notifs on for replies and dms)
idk i dont know if ill ever delete it because its like the number one app for like getting a quick thought out there for my friends to see, but i definitely feel like i use it a lot less than i used to
