playlists are not for listening to

Post by cyndaquirl »

my music hot take : playlists are not for listening to. they’re for putting songs in funny lists

example: https://music.apple.com/ca/playlist/mor ... Z7GIReDrl2

i could provide more examples of similar highly functional playlists but i think this is enough to serve my point. im never gonna listen to this but it sure is a playlist. this is what the feature was intended for. everyone knows the only real way to listen to music is to either listen to specific albums front to back or put your entire library on shuffle. no in between. playlists are just decorations.

Personally I think playlists are a type of language, This is my personal favourite when it comes to my creations that I had to fix up because Spotify doesn't know art:

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4wEgZ ... ab259447d2

Overall I think the days of standing outside your crushes window and blasting music is a thing of the past! We have playlists to show our love to them instead. Want to confess your love? Playlist. Write a beautiful poem? Playlists. Ask your grandma for a few more dollars so you can buy those really cool light up sneakers? Playlist. The human race has evolved through many different communication methods through tin cans, pigeons, phones! Texting is a thing of the past! From this point on we as humans will communicate purely through creating playlists.
