"Youtube to MP4 converter" consipiracy

Chances are, you've probably wanted to download a youtube video before and so you've used a "youtube to mp4" sire to grab the video. I've been doing this for YEARS now, when one day I asked myself what the "deal" is with these websites. Is it legal? Who made them? How do they generate income? If not for money, why do they operate?

So, I went to the FAQ page of this (https://mp4s.org/en1/youtube-to-mp4/) Youtube to MP4 site to find some answers.



What? That can't be right.

So I pressed on, I check the other pages, "Contact", "Copyright Claims", "Privacy Policy", "Terms of use", "News".



All of them lead to dead, empty links.

Although there are other download sites that DO have some information on them, they are still extremely cryptic and offer very little information about themselves, and NEVER about the people who made them.

Here's the thing though, I first noticed this when I was 14. This has been going on for at least 7 years, and despite how these sites come and go, they all remain quite undercover nevertheless. With all this flying in my head, I'm left pondering so many questions; "What's the deal with these guys?", "Are they scamming people somehow?" "Is there some bigger conspiracy at large here?". With no way of getting in contact with the people who made them, I guess there's no way of knowing for sure.
