i finally watched the shining (1980) - any suggestions for similar films to watch??

holy fuck how have i gone so long without seeing it.

i love how much it relies on atmosphere instead of being "in your face" scary -- its just so fucking creepy and unsettling. i wasn't even sure i was gonna like it as im not usually one for horror. like holy shit the entire overlook hotel, its like something out of a really weird dream (its a liminal space and im not sure if i'll be burnt at the stake for saying this) and i fucking love that sort of thing.

i want to watch more Kubrick films, and im def gonna check out Doctor Sleep.
